But in reality the word comes from two Latin words that mean “to make holy.” Making sacrifices helps us become more holy and grow closer to God. This pamphlet helps Catholics examine their ideas about giving and generosity, the connection between giving and gratitude, explores the concept of sacrificial giving, and gives concrete steps toward becoming more generous. Families can then pray a prayer for generosity.
