Ordination of a Bishop, of Priests, and of Deacons, Second Typical Edition, is the definitive English text for use in the United States for the conferral of the Holy Orders of the diaconate, the priesthood, and the episcopate. This beautiful book presents the “rites of Ordination by which ministers of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God are constituted in the Church” (CDWDS Decree). Revised after the Second Vatican Council, these rituals consist in the laying on of hands and the Prayer of Ordination, as well as preparatory and explanatory rites that are part of these ceremonies by ancient tradition.
